Sunday May 31st, 2015

Well I finished two toques today and now I have started two new toques. One toque will be green and the other will be orange. The green toque will be knit in the classic pattern and the orange toque will be knit in the shaker pattern. After I complete the two new toques I will officially have 86 toques out of 100. I am getting closer and closer to my goal of 100 toques every week. Here is a photo of the start of my green classic adult women's toque. Enjoy.

Once the two toques are finished I will post photos as always of the finished product.

Bonjour et Happy Victoria Day. Today I finished knitting a dark vert adults toque. I just finished sewing the toque together this morning. Now I must take a photo of the toque and post it on my blog. I now officially have 80 toques. My goal is to have 100 toques. Out of the 80 toques 15 are crocheted toques and 8 knitted toques are for children. My goal for children's toques is to have 10 toques for children completed. Now I am working on another vert child's toque. By the way Vert is French for Green if you are wondering.

Friday May 22, 2015: So here is an update. The toque is coming along nicely. I am looking forward to posting photos once the toque is finished. I hope that you enjoy looking at the photos.

Saturday May 23, 2015: Well here is another update. I finished the toque and will post a photo tonight. This makes 9 toques completed for children out of my goal of 10 toques for children.

Saturday May 16, 2015

Hello et Bonjour!!! Today (Aujourd'hui) I am (Je suis) knitting a green child's toque. I am (Je suis) going to start using French on my blog as I will be studying French for a month this summer at the University of UVIC. I want to be able to read, speak, write and understand French. My ultimate goal is to become bilingual. But when I throw French into my blog I have to remember that this is still a textiles blog not a French blog. Knitting in French is Tricot. Once I am finished my green toque I will post a picture. Well I finished knitting my toque. Now I just have to take a photo of the completed toque and post the photo for all to see. In French the word for hat is chapeau.

Do You Ever Take Your Knitting Outside Your Home?

In the past I used to love to take my knitting projects with me when I left my house. When I lived in Nova Scotia I used to like to knit on the bus and at the university and in coffee shops. In British Columbia I have taken my knitting to coffee shops and to the college but since getting tendonitis and realizing that I spend way too much time knitting and need to stop knitting or knit a lot less I don't take my knitting out of my house. I tried a few days ago to pack my knitting in my bag when I was leaving my house but then I said to myself this is foolish and immediately took my knitting out of my bag and left it at home. I don't want to be addicted to knitting. I used to be addicted to knitting but I try not to be anymore. I realize I can through a day without knitting. But I want to use my knitting gift from God for his purposes. God intended for me to knit at home and for people in need but he doesn't want me to be addicted to knitting so that I am only knitting. He has given me many gifts to use for his purposes and knitting I have to say is just one of them.
